BOX SCORELindsey Shoales scored five goals as the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team made quick work of No. 19 College at Brockport, defeating the visiting Golden Eagles, 16-3. With the win, Fisher improves to 11-4, while Brockport falls to 10-5.
Samantha Barton scored the Cardinals' first goal just over one minute into the game after beating a double team and firing a shot past Brockport's goalie. Fisher would make it 2-0 less than three minutes later as
Jordan Johnson found Shoales for the goal.
It would take the Golden Eagles more than half of the opening period to get on the board, scoring their first goal at 13:28, but that was all they would manage in the first frame as the Cardinals controlled the tempo for the remainder of the half.
Fisher scored four unanswered including two more from Shoales to hold a 7-1 lead as both teams broke for intermission.
Trailing by six goals at the start of the second stanza, Brockport scored its second goal of the game, but the Cardinals answered with five goals of their own to make it 12-2 before the Golden Eagles could net their third goal of the contest with just over 12 minutes left to play.
The goal would be Brockport's last, as Fisher would score the game's final four goals to earn the win.
Taylor Hughes added to her program-leading numbers, scoring two goals to go along with a pair of ground balls.

Bridget Alberts and
Danielle Falck each notched a goal, while Barton scored three goals and registered four draw controls.
Sierra Badger had two goals in the win and posted one ground ball, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Nicole Hart got the start in net for Fisher and made four saves to pick up her third win of the season.
The Cardinals will return to the turf at 1 p.m. on Friday when they welcome the Elmira College Soaring Eagles to Growney Stadium.
