Balanced Attack Pushes Men's Lacrosse Past Hartwick

The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team had ten different scorers en route to a 10-4 victory over host Hartwick College to earn its first win in the Empire 8.


Fisher moves to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play while Hartwick falls to 2-5, 0-2.

The Hawks held a 2-1 advantage early in the game but Fisher scored the final three goals of the first quarter to take a 4-1 lead, all of which came in the final 2:31 of the period.  Brett Farrell found Kevin Bronson to start the 3-0 Fisher run.  Farrell helped close out the surge with time ticking down in the quarter finding Nick Rossi with just :1 second remaining to make it 4-1.

Fisher upped its lead to 7-3 at the half.  Jeff Wester connected with Farrell to make it 6-3 with just under five minutes to play and Greg Ramsden scored an unassisted goal two minutes later.

Offense was at a premium in the second half with the teams combining to score just four total goals.

In the third quarter Fisher and Hartwick each notched at tally as the scoreboard read 8-4 in favor of the Cardinals.  Wagner hooked up with Wester for the lone Fisher goal of the quarter.

Jake Aldrich netted his first-career goal in the fourth quarter and Nick Costello rounded out the scoring for Fisher off a feed from Drew Brown.

Farrell paced the Cardinals attack recording four points while Wagner and Wester each tallied a goal and an assist.

Tanner Swan picked up his first-career win in net posting eight saves.

The Cardinals will face off with Union College at 2 pm. on Wednesday.
