Box Score

The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team continued its hot streak Saturday pushing past host Elimira College 59-44 in Empire 8 action.

The Cardinals, winners of four straight, improve to 7-4 overall and 1-0 in Empire 8 play while Elmira falls to 3-6, 0-2 respectively.

After leading 32-23 at the break Fisher took a double-digit lead for good at the 16:25 mark paced by the play of Keegan Ryan and Adam Ambielli.  The duo combined to score 12 of the teams first 14 points to give Fisher a 46-31 advantage near the midway point of the half and the Cardinals never looked back.

Fisher found its rhythm early in the game.  Stefan Bock found a trailing Charles McVay on a fast break for the slam to give the Cardinals a 19-9 lead midway through the first half.

Elmira found some flow late in the half using a 7-0 run to cut the Fisher lead to 21-16 but Fisher pushed its halftime lead to nine.

Ryan finished with 16 points and six rebounds.  Ambielli tallied 13 points, marking the fifth straight game the junior has scored in double-digits.

Bock notched nine points for the Cardinals.

Fisher will play its Empire 8 home-opener at 6 p.m on Friday hosting Hartwick College.
