Cardinals Hit the Road For Pivotal Conference Games

The St. John Fisher College basketball teams will hit the road this weekend, as the Cardinals will look to make noise in the conference standings.

On Friday, Fisher will travel to Hoboken, N.J. to take on Stevens Institute of Technology.  The men will begin the action at 6 p.m. with the women scheduled to follow at 8 p.m.  On Saturday, the Cardinals will travel to Oneonta where they will face the Hartwick College Hawks.  The men will tip at 2 p.m. with the women set to begin play at 4 p.m.

The men suffered their first conference loss of the season to Hartwick, 84-82, in early January, but recovered the very next day to defeat Stevens, 80-67, as Adam Ambielli scored a season-high 25 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.  Fisher will look to rebound this weekend after nearing rallying to beat Nazareth Tuesday evening, after erasing an 18-point deficit.

The women's team will look to continue its winning ways after posting four consecutive victories by an average margin of nearly 21 points.  The Cardinals currently sit at 5-3 in conference play with one of those wins coming earlier this season against the Ducks.  Fisher fell to Hartwick 71-68, but cut the margin to a single point late in the game before the Hawks sealed the win at the charity stripe.
