The St. John Fisher College basketball teams will travel up East Avenue tonight to take on host Nazareth College in the first go around of the Battle of the Beaks.  The matchup helps support the Golisano Children's Hospital, most notably children born prematurely.

The men's teams will square off first at 6 p.m in a pivotal Empire 8 matchup with a logjam at the top of the standings.  Four teams sit with two losses in the Empire 8 with Fisher holding a 5-2 mark and the Golden Flyers at 4-2.  Fisher boasts the top rated defense in the Empire 8 surrendering under 68 points per game while the Golden Flyers tout the third highest scoring offense in the conference at nearly 80 points per game.

Following the men's game the women will square off at 8 p.m.  Fisher (4-3, 11-6) is coming off its first Empire 8 weekend sweep with wins over Elmira and Alfred University.  The Cardinals had their highest point total of the season on Saturday scoring 88 points against Alfred.  Nazareth sits at (2-4, 7-9) winning its last matchup 73-55 against Alfred State on Thursday night.
