Fisher Football Game Notes vs. Ithaca College

The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College football team (5-1, 2-1) will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. to battle the Ithaca College Bombers (5-1, 3-1) in a crucial Empire 8 conference matchup that may have postseason implications.

The No. 25 Cardinals are coming off a 42-35 road loss to Salisbury University last Saturday.  Fisher's high-powered offense was led by Kevin Francis who hauled in seven balls for 143 yards and four touchdowns which established a new program record.  The Cardinals rank first in the conference averaging 35.5 points per game.

Ithaca enters today's game having won two in a row including last week's 26-21 decision over Utica College in which the Bombers won on their final drive.  Ithaca currently has the top-ranked defense in the Empire 8, allowing a paltry 13 points per game.

Fisher will look to continue its recent winning streak against Ithaca, as the Cardinals have won seven in a row dating back to 2006, outscoring the Bombers 216-86 in that span.   However, the last two meetings have been decided by a total of seven points.
