The Cardinals earned a trip to the first round after knocking-off the No. 1 Ithaca College Bombers 9-7 on Sunday.  In a tight battle, Fisher scored the game's final two goals to break a 7-7 tie. Emily Bryerton scored the game-winning goal for Fisher with 7:08 to play and the Cardinals were able to keep Ithaca off the board for the remainder of the contest.

Taylor Hughes, the tournament's Most Valuable Player, scored four goals in the contest to push her season tally to 66.  The sophomore is now just two goals away from tying the single-season record set last year at 68 by current teammate Melissa Leonhard.  Hughes also reached the career 100-goal plateau this past weekend with her first of seven goals in a 13-9 semifinal win over the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks.

Fisher and Fredonia have only faced each other four times, meeting annually from 2001-2004.  Fisher holds the all-time series record 4-0.

With a win on Wednesday, Fisher will advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 to face perennial contender Salisbury University who holds an unblemished 19-0 record on the year.

The Cardinals currently rank nationally in a number of statistics, with the most notable coming from Fisher netminder Caroline Trpcevski.  The sophomore keeper is currently ranked 14th in goals against average, allowing just 7.68 past her each game.  The Cardinals' defense is placed 31st after allowing an average of 8.94 goals per game, while the team's win percentage (76.5%) sees the same ranking.

Hughes, with her 84 points in 2012, is placed 43rd in the nation, helping Fisher rank 40th overall in scoring margin.  The Cardinals see an average of 4.65 goals between themselves and their opponent.
