The St. John Fisher College basketball teams will play their final two regular-season road games this weekend, starting with a doubleheader at Elmira College on Friday night.

At 6 p.m., the women's team faces Elmira College in a pivotal Empire 8 matchup.   The Cardinals (8-10 overall, 4-3 Empire 8) are currently tied for fourth place in the conference with a one-game lead over Elmira (7-11, 3-4).  The Soaring Eagles squandered a 12-point lead two weeks ago at Fisher, but nailed a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer to defeat the Cardinals 67-65.

The men's game at 8 p.m. features Fisher looking to snap a four-game skid at Elmira (0-17, 0-7).  Fisher (2-5, 9-9) is currently in sixth place in the Empire 8 standings and desperately needs a win to keep its postseason hopes alive.  Fisher has advanced to the postseason each year since 1989.

The top four teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season in both men's and women's basketball advance to the Empire 8 Championship, with the winner of the four-team tournament earning an auotomatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.

Fisher will wrap up its five-game road trip on Saturday at Alfred.  The Cardinals will close out the regular season with five straight home games.
