The St. John Fisher College softball team split its two games with College at Brockport on Thursday.
Fisher lost the first game 2-1, but picked up a 5-0 win in the second game, raising its record to 15-5. The Cardinals will return to action with doubleheaders against Stevens Institute of Technology and Elmira College this weekend.
Game One – Brockport 2, Fisher 1
Brockport scored in the seventh inning to spoil a solid performance from pitcher Danielle Leone. The sophomore pitcher struck out four and scattered eight hits in the loss. Jennifer Vanek went 2-for-3 with a triple and scored Fisher's lone run. Kayla Goodberlet doubled in Fisher's lone run.
Game Two – Fisher 5, Brockport 0
Sophomore pitcher Sarah Stefanon tossed a three-hitter in the win. She also struck out four. Fisher led 2-0, going into the sixth but tacked on three runs to take control. Sarah Fordyce was the only multi-hit player for the Cardinals.
