Fisher Softball Can't Slay Red Dragons

In a matchup between two of the top softball programs in the state, SUNY Cortland picked up two victories over host St. John Fisher College on Tuesday.

The Red Dragons (25-3) won the opening game 12-0 in five innings and posted a 6-1 win over the Cardinals (22-8) in the nightcap.

Sarah Fordyce's towering home run down the right field line was one of the day's only bright spots.

Fisher and Cortland have played each of the last six years and the two schools have split the doubleheader each time, prior to today's sweep.

Fisher will return to action at 3 p.m. on Thursday at D'Youville College.
