The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team
fell 2-0 to hosting Ithaca in an Empire 8 match on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Bomber territory.
Ithaca got onto the board just under 10 minutes into play, and the Cardinals held the Bombers off the rest of the half to go into halftime with a one-goal deficit.
The Bombers wasted no time in the second, jumping to a two-goal lead just three minutes into the latter half off a header that found the back of the net.
Ithaca held a 25-5 shot advantage in the contest.
Laura Burgstrom recorded a team-best two shots on goal for the Cardinals, while
Jessica Plukas stopped seven shots between the pipes.
The Cardinals, now 2-9-2 overall and 0-4 in the Empire 8, return to play as they host Wells College in a non-conference match under the lights of Growney Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
