Softball Drops NCAA Opener to Keuka

Lauren O'Brien was 2-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored in the loss to Keuka.
The St. John Fisher College softball team suffered a 10-2 five-inning loss to Keuka College in the NCAA Regional in Ithaca, NY on Thursday, as the Storm pounded out 12 hits to rally past the Cardinals.

The Cardinals will play at 10 a.m. on Friday against the loser of the King's/University of Rochester game.

Fisher (30-11) managed just four hits, but scored its two runs in the bottom of the third to get on the scoreboard and trim what had been an 8-0 Keuka lead.

Keuka put the Cardinals away with a two-run home run to straightaway center in the top half of the fourth.

Sophomore Lauren O'Brien went 2-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored. Samantha Vara and Kristi Bradley also recorded hits in the game.

Amanda Shevchuk was tagged with the loss. The senior fell to 16-7 on the year.
