Women's Lacrosse Wins At 'Wick

Jen Springett tallied four points and seven ground balls in Sunday's win.

The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team cruised to an 18-5 win over host Hartwick College on Sunday.

With the win, Fisher improves to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in the Empire 8.

The Cardinals took the lead for good just 15 seconds into the game on a goal from #Ashley Fenyn# and led 13-2 at intermission.

Fenyn
, #Mary Stimson# and #Lauren Glavin# each finished with five points.   Fenyn finished with two goals and three assists, Stimson tallied three goals and two assists, while Glavin collected four goals and one assist.

Jen Springett
tallied four points on one goal and three assists. She also led her team with seven ground balls and seven draw controls.
Sophomores #Meg Merriam# and #Courtney Clare# each scored two goals.

Jackie Maynard
, Allison Christie and #Trish Scudder# each finished with one goal and one assist, while #Dana DiIorio# also scored.

Junior goalie #Vicki Sahm# stopped six shots over 60 minutes to earn the win.

Fisher will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the final home game of the 2009 regular season and will host Utica College. Fisher must win to earn a spot in the Empire 8 Conference Championship.
