Although the Ducks jumped out to 4-0 lead over the first eight minutes of the game,
Lauren Glavin and
Meg Merriam brought the Cardinals to within two with back-to-back goals just 16 seconds apart.
Fisher pulled to within two scores on four separate occasions throughout the game, but failed to get any closer.
Jen Springett's first goal made it 7-5 going into the half, while her second goal trimmed the Duck's lead to 9-7 seven minutes into the final period.
Junior midfield/attack
Ashley Fenyn, who finished with two scores, went to goal alone midway through the second half to set the score at 11-9, but the Ducks answered with three straight goals over the next three minutes to push their lead to five goals, and keep the Cardinals out of reach.
Glavin (4g) and Merriam (3g, 1a) each recorded four points in the loss, with Springett and Fenyn adding two goals apiece. Defensively,
Andrea Gunsalus (five) and
Tabbi Rice (four) combined to cause nine turnovers.
Fisher falls to 6-6 overall, 3-3 Empire 8, and will return to action tomorrow at Hartwick College in another Empire 8 conference meeting.
