The Cardinals, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the final game, saw their lead slip away as the Storm plated nine runs to take a five-run lead through four innings. Leading off the fifth however, Fisher rallied to even the score at nine all, and held even with Keuka until the seventh. With the bases loaded, Vara delivered a clutch double that emptied the bases, and came around to score Fisher's fourth run of the inning on another double from freshman
Megan Zoerb to give Fisher the final margin.
Vara, who went 3-for-4 in the first game, was 2-for-4 in the finale with a double and four RBI, while senior
Kristi Bradley(3-for-5) blasted two doubles and brought in a run. Zoerb and
Meghan Graves (two RBI) each picked up two hits and doubled once, with
Jamie Harmon batting in three runs on a pair of doubles.
Jenn Vanek was 2-for-4 in the win.
Senior
Amanda Shevchuk(9-4) threw all seven innings, surrendered no earned runs, and did not give up a walk in the 2-1 loss, while freshman
Chrissy Capalbo collected her second win of the season, this one in relief.
Fisher (19-7) will battle East-Avenue rival Nazareth College at Nazareth on Saturday. The first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
