Junior goalie
Vicki Sahm led the way between the pipes for the Cardinals with 16 saves to preserve the win. Offensively,
Lauren Glavin scored three times and assisted on three more scores for a game-high six points, while
Trish Scudder, who also had an assist, and
Ashley Fenyn each netted four goals.
After taking a 3-1 lead on a free-position goal from
Mary Stimson five minutes into the first half, the Golden Eagles rallied for back-to-back goals just 47 second apart to even the score. Five different players scored a goal for Fisher in a 5-0 scoring run over the next 5:56 to give the Cardinals an 8-3 lead that would prove to be too much for Brockport to overcome.
The Golden Eagles pulled to within three, 12-9, behind a trio of unanswered goals that bridged the halftime gap, but the Cardinals put the game on ice with five goals, including four on free-position shots, over the final 21:13 to improve to 1-3 overall on the year.
In 60 minutes of game action, the Cardinals turned the ball over just six times, while outshooting Brockport 40-29.
Fisher will take on Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
