The St. John Fisher College men's basketball team came through with a 70-58 win at Elmira College on Sunday. With the win, Fisher improves to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8 Conference.
The Cardinals went on a 9-1 run over the final 2:19 of the first half to take a 34-24 lead into the locker room and kept their advantage for the rest of the game.

Ozell Franklin# and #
Anthony Hall# each shot 6-for-13 from the floor and finished 17 points.
Franklin made four 3-pointers, while
Hall sank three from beyond the arc.

Brandon Witte# made the most of his first career start, shooting 4-for-4 from the floor and finishing with nine points.
Michael Wopperer grabbed 11 rebounds, tying his career-high, and added seven points and four assists.
Matt Newman totaled seven points and five rebounds, while freshman #
Trevor Stearns# chipped in with six points and four boards.
Fisher will return to action at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday in the opening round of the JPMorgan Chase Scholarship Tournament. The Cardinals are the No. 4 seed in the eight-team tournament and will play No. 5 Roberts Wesleyan College at Nazareth College in the opening round.
