St. John Fisher University Athletics

Justen Polk of the men’s soccer team has been named St. John Fisher College’s Male Athlete of the Week, ending October 22nd, 2017.

The freshman, Henrietta native tallied the tying goal in the 86th minute of the team’s Empire 8 matchup with Elmira on Saturday. Polk received the pass from Bryan Rollins in the box, eventually beating the Elmira goalkeeper, finding the back of the net and forcing overtime for the Cardinals. Polk registered a total three shots in the contest.

The goal would be the final of the contest as Fisher drew a 1-1 tie with the Soaring Eagles, preserving the Cardinals season and keeping their post-season hopes alive.

Fisher returns to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as the team travels down to Geneseo to take on the Knights in a non-conference bout.
