St. John Fisher University Athletics

Lauren Fazio of the field hockey team has been named the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on September 25th, 2016.

Fazio notched 11 total points over the week’s three games, helping the Cardinals obtain a perfect 3-0 record.

In Tuesday’s shutout victory over Nazareth, Fazio scored two of Fisher’s four goals. The sophomore also assisted on the game-winning first goal. Her offensive prowess continued into the weekend as the forward registered two goals against Elmira College and another the following day against St. Lawrence University.

The Hopewell Junction native has 13 total points on the season thus far, second only to Emily Markarian.

Fisher will return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as the team travels to SUNY Geneseo to take on the Knights.
