St. John Fisher College’s Tanner Swan of the men’s lacrosse team has been selected as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 6th, 2016.

Swan’s strong goaltending paced the Cardinals throughout the week as Fisher went 2-0 in Clearwater, Florida over spring break. The junior saw 90 minutes of action between the two games, making 14 saves while allowing just seven goals (4.67 goals against average).

Also named this week’s Empire 8 Conference Goalie of the Week, Swan started the week with four saves in 30 scoreless minutes in a 23-1 win over Lyndon State on Monday. Then against Otterbein on Wednesday, the Ridgewood, NJ native made 10 saves and allowed seven goals to lead Fisher to a 13-7 victory. The goalie also picked up two assists in the game, including one on the eventual game-winning goal.

Swan and the rest of the men’s lacrosse team will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as they host The College at Brockport for their first home game of the season.
