Brad Rush (Albion/Albion) of the St. John Fisher College baseball has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 11, 2014.
In a 5-1 week for the Cardinals, Rush batted .667 (16-for-24) with seven runs scored, five doubles and five RBI.
His best game came in Fisher’s 8-3 win at Manhattanville College, where the senior first baseman enjoyed a career-day, going 5-for-5 at the plate.
Fisher won the ECAC Metro Championship over the weekend and finishes the year with a 31-11 overall record, tying the College-record for wins in a season.
Rush ends the season with a 15-game hitting streak, including five multi-hit games in his last six contests. He batted a conference-leading .421 at the dish with a .515 on base percentage to go along with 59 hits, good for second in the Empire 8.
A career .326 hitter, Rush started 135 games in four years for Fisher.
