St. John Fisher University Athletics

Katlin Shippy (Trumansburg/Trumansburg) of the women’s cross country team has been selected as the St. John Fisher College Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 16, 2014.

The junior crossed the finish line first for the Cardinals at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday. In leading Fisher for the first time this season, Shippy ran her career best and set a personal record on the course. She completed the six-kilometer course in 23:17.0 for 57th place.

The Cardinals closed out their season at Regionals in Genesee Valley Park. Despite not racing three of their top-eight runners due to injuries, the women tied their best regional performance with a 23rd-place finish for 658 points
