Mike Collichio (Webster Schroeder/Webster) of the nationally-ranked football team has been selected as the St. John Fisher College Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2014.

The sophomore finished with eight catches for a career-high 174 yards with two touchdowns to help Fisher tally a season-high 583 yards of total offense in a 35-25 win over visiting Buffalo State College on Saturday.

Collichio has now recorded a touchdown reception in each of the past six games. The wide receiver gave Fisher the lead for good with 12:39 remaining in the second quarter when he caught a 33-yard pass from Fenti. He also tallied the game’s final points with another 33-yard pass.

So far this season, Collichio has caught 34 passes for 536 yards. His nine touchdowns also lead the Empire 8 Conference.

With the win, Fisher improves to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the Empire 8 Conference.

The Cardinals can clinch the Empire 8 Conference title with a win at 1 p.m. Saturday against visiting Ithaca College (6-2, 5-2).
