Mary Kate Cusack (Clifton Park/Shenendahowa) of the women’s basketball team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 1, 2013.
Cusack helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-1 record last week including a runner-up finish in the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Invitational. The sophomore guard posted 19 points in an 84-50 win over John Jay on 7-13 shooting including five from three-point range. The Clifton Park, N.Y. native scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in the championship game against Union College, earning her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Earlier in the week, Cusack finished with 12 points, three rebounds, two blocks and six steals in a 44-34 win over Medaille College.
Cusack and the rest of the women’s basketball team we return to the hardwood at 6 p.m. on Wednesday as they face William Smith in the opening round of the 21st annual Wendy’s College Classic.
