St. John Fisher College’s Katlin Shippy (Trumansburg/Trumansburg) of the women’s cross country team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 13, 2013.
Shippy had a strong performance on Saturday at the Hamilton Invitational, finishing 19th out of 148 runners to help Fisher to a fourth-place finish. The sophomore finished the 5,000-meter race in a time of 19:18.7.
Fisher finished ahead of fellow Empire 8–rivals Ithaca, Houghton, and Hartwick as well as Division II-Program Mansfield University.
Shippy has come on strong for the Cardinals as of late, coming in as the team’s second place finisher in back-to-back races.
Fisher will return to action in two weeks back in Hamilton at the NYSCTC Championship.
