St. John Fisher University Athletics

Chris Ferrara (Fairport/Fairport) of the St. John Fisher College men’s soccer team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 2, 2013. 

In the opening weekend of the season, Ferrara helped Fisher start the season
with wins over Cazenovia College and Wilmington College of Ohio in the Flower City
Classic.

Trailing 1-0 against Wilmington of Ohio with just 15 minutes remaining, Ferrara scored his first collegiate goal to tie the score. The junior forward struck again in the 87th minute of the game off a second effort opportunity to lift the Cardinals, 2-1, in their second game of the weekend.  

Fisher defeated Cazenovia College 3-0 in their first game of the tournament.

The Cardinals will make their home debut at 7 p.m. Wednesday against the College of Brockport.
