St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College’s Cohen Miles-Rath (Wayland-Cohocton/Cohocton) of the men’s cross country team has been named as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 30, 2011. 
          
The freshman was named as the Conference's Top Runner of the Meet and Top Rookie of the Meet after finishing in first place at the Empire 8 Conference Championships at Saratoga Springs on Saturday.  He completed the eight-kilometer course in 25:55, and earned First Team All-Conference honors.
          
Miles-Rath was also named as the Conference's Runner of the Week for the week ending October 30^th and was selected as Fisher’s representative as Sportsman of the Year.
         
The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
           
Fisher will return to action on November 12^th, when it competes in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship.  Results from the race will determine which athletes advance to the NCAA Championships.
