PITTSFORD, N.Y., January 31, 2011 – Meghan Soja of the St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team has been named as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 30, 2011.

            Soja scored 11 of her career-high 19 points in the second half to help lead her team to a 65-60 win over host Elmira College on Friday night.  The win marked Fisher’s fourth consecutive victory, raising the team’s record to 9-9 overall and 6-3 in the Empire 8 Conference.

            The junior forward also led the team with nine rebounds, while shooting 5-for-10 from the floor and 9-for-11 from the foul line.

            For the season, Soja is averaging 7.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

            Fisher will return to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Alfred University.
