Kelly Bergamo (Liverpool/Liverpool) of the St. John Fisher College field hockey team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for action concluding September, 16, 2018.

Bergamo posted eight points last week as the Cardinals downed SUNY Geneseo and SUNY New Paltz to improve to 4-1 on the season.

The Liverpool native totaled three goals overall with two assists and had six shots to her name.

Against the Knights, Bergamo broke a 1-1 tie with a game-winning goal in overtime before notching two more goals and assisting on two others in another overtime win against the Hawks on Saturday.

For the season, Bergamo ranks second on the team in points and goals and is among the conference leaders.

Field Hockey opens the home portion of its schedule at 7 p.m. on Tuesday when it hosts Houghton College in an Empire 8 tilt at Growney Stadium.
