Carli Kovarik (Liverpool/Liverpool) of the St. John Fisher College women’s soccer team has been tabbed as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a pair of wins during the week, which concluded September 9th, 2018.
Kovarik scored the Cardinals’ two goals on the week as Fisher defeated The College at Brockport and Marietta College to improve to 3-1 on the season. Fisher, which is currently riding a three-game winning streak, is off to its best start since going 3-1-0 to begin the 2006 campaign.
Against the Golden Eagles last Thursday, Kovarik broke a scoreless tie and netted what would be the game-winning goal in the 81st minute before scoring another game-winner against the Pioneers on Saturday in the 69th minute.
Kovarik, who currently leads the Empire 8 with three goals, along with the rest of the women’s soccer team will put its three-game winning streak on the line at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18th when they face off with Houghton College in an Empire 8 clash at Growney Stadium.
