St. John Fisher University Athletics

St. John Fisher College has selected #Kristen Taliento# of the women’s basketball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 23, 2008.
 

In the Courtyard-Marriott Invitational hosted this weekend by Fisher, the Cardinals went 1-1. Fisher posted an 80 – 12 victory over Hilbert College in the opening round, allowing the fewest points in the College’s women’s basketball history. In the win, Taliento went 3-for-6 from the field for six points. She also added two steals and a rebound in just nine minutes of play.

The Championship game featured St. Vincent College and Fisher. The Cardinals lost the game 75-57, but Taliento put up career numbers in the effort. In 19 minutes of play, Taliento went 5-for-9 from the field and 4-for-6 from the free-throw line for a career-high 14 points. The junior guard also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in the loss, seven of which came on the offensive end, earning her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
