St. John Fisher College has named junior goalkeeper #Adam Durst# of the men’s soccer team as the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending August 31, 2008.

The Cardinals opened the season with a 1-1 showing in the Flower City Invitational hosted by University of Rochester. Durst made 11 saves over the two games, and also recorded a shutout in Sunday’s 1-0 win over SUNY Oswego.

In the season-opener against SUNY Cortland, Durst made nine saves, including six in the first half, and followed that with another strong performance in Sunday’s shutout win over SUNY Oswego on Sunday with two saves over the 90 minutes.

The Cardinals (1-1) will return to action at 4 p.m. Tuesday battle host SUNY Brockport in a non-conference matchup.
