Wenley Louis was hired in 2013 as an Assistant Coach for the indoor and outdoor track and field programs. Louis enters his 10th season at Fisher and in 2023 is promoted to the Head Coach, Women’s Track and Field as well as the program’s recruitment coordinator. Louis coaches alongside Program Coordinator and Men’s Head Coach Geoff Grambo. Louis coaches the jumps and combined-event athletes on the men’s and women’s program.

Under Louis’ direction, the jumps program has established itself on the national stage, boasting an impressive streak of 16 consecutive seasons in which a jumper/multi athlete has represented Fisher at the NCAA National Championships. Louis guided the likes of Kyle Rollins, Mark VanMarter and Devin Cornelius to a combined 5 individual National Championship titles, 17 All-America awards and 19 NCAA National Championship appearances.

Devin Cornelius became the first track and field athlete to represent Fisher at NCAAs during the 2013-14 Indoor/Outdoor seasons. The following year Cornelius would become the program's first All-America Award recipient. Mark VanMarter claimed the program’s first national title in the long jump during the 2018 indoor season. Louis has also mentored 12-time All-American Kyle Rollins to four national championship titles in the high jump and secured a program record 2.22m (7’3.5”) at the US Track and Field National Championship in June 2022.

In 2023 the Cardinals were led by strong performances by Michaela Kurbs and Veronica Duell. Duell and Kurbs finished the regular season nationally ranked 3rd and 4th in the long jump after jumping 19’7” and 19’5.5” respectively. Last year, Louis guided six cardinals to All-Academic honors after they finished the regular season nationally ranked 3rd, 4th, 17th, 24th, 26th and 45th while also maintaining a 3.30 GPA or higher.

Louis' contributions to the program are evident at every turn as the Cardinals have won 13 combined Empire 8 Championships including three in 2022 as the program was named the Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year three times overall.

A native of Rochester, Louis graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2012 with a B.A. in Psychology. He led the Knights track and field team in the long jump and triple jump as a seven-time SUNYAC champion, ECAC champion and was named as an NCAA Division III All-American Award Recipient. Louis still holds the SUNY Geneseo triple jump record at 14.59m (47’11”) and long jump record at 7.77m (25’-06”) which is currently the second furthest jump in NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field history. After attending junior college at Alfred State, Louis left his mark on the program as a NJCAA National Champion in the long jump and triple jump All-American.

A graduate of Irondequoit High School, Louis achieved a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 2018 from SUNY Brockport.
