Stephanie Strassner

Stephanie Strassner became the first flag football coach in St. John Fisher University history in January 2026. The 2024 All-Greater Rochester and Section V Flag Football Coach of the Year, Strassner spent the last three years (2024-26) as the varsity flag football coach at Rochester’s Bishop Kearney High School. 

Under Strassner’s direction, Bishop Kearney posted an impressive 37-7 record, won two sectional championships and captured the inaugural New York State Division 2 Championship in 2024, when the Kings finished with a perfect 16-0 mark. The Buffalo Bills honored Strassner for winning the state title during a game in December 2024 and surprised her with two tickets to Super Bowl LIX. 

Strassner has also made various stops as a girls' high school basketball coach in the area. She has been a varsity assistant coach at Bishop Kearney for the last two years and served as the Geneva High School varsity head coach from 2021-22. Strassner coached the Webster Thomas junior varsity team from 2023-25, assisted the Geneva varsity team from 2019-21, led the Geneva junior varsity program from 2017-19 and led the modified team at Bishop Kearney from 2014-16. 

Strassner, a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher in the Webster Central School District, graduated from Keuka College in 2013 with her Bachelor of Science in general and special education. She earned her Master of Literacy from SUNY Brockport in 2015. 

Strassner was a women’s basketball and soccer student-athlete during her time at Keuka College.
