Shawn Sullivan joined the St. John Fisher men’s basketball coaching staff before the 2024 season.
Sullivan spent the last three seasons at RIT as an assistant coach. He coordinated the Tigers' defensive strategies, assisted their player development efforts and helped implement game plans. RIT's defense improved 320% in defensive rankings over his last two years, and the Tigers finished fourth in the Liberty League in 2023-24.
Sullivan has also worked at Attack Athletics, a basketball training center in Chicago run by Tim Grover, who's advised some of the greatest basketball players in the game's history, including Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Dwayne Wade. Sullivan worked with professional, college and high school players at Attack Athletics.
Additionally, Sullivan founded Upstate Elite, one of the top Amateur Athletic Union teams in the nation. His teams won some of the most competitive AAU tournaments, including Rumble in the Bronx and Rhode Island Jam Fest.
Sullivan played collegiately for four years and served as a team captain at Fredonia State. He earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics and later received his master's in educational administration at Canisius University.
