Head coach Mike Henchen announced the return of former standout sprinter Daniel Norris ’20 who was hired as an assistant coach in October 2020.
A four-time All-Conference honoree during his career, Norris, who will aid the program in its recruiting efforts, helped lead the Cardinals to three Empire 8 Championships during his tenure as a student-athlete.
The Guilford native played a pivotal role in Fisher’s most recent championship after winning both the 60-meter and 200-meter dash during the 2020 Empire 8 Indoor Championship last February. Additionally, Norris finished second in the 60m dash at the 2018 E8 Championship and was part of the 4x400 relay that claimed a second place showing at the championship during the outdoor campaign.
Norris, who currently holds the program record in the 60m dash after finishing in 7.01 seconds, was named the Empire 8 Runner of the Week twice during his senior season. The sprinter competed in 10 meets overall last winter and claimed three first-place showings in the process.
