Emily Nestler joins the St. John Fisher University coaching staff this year as an assistant coach. Hailing from Rochester, Nestler’s basketball journey began at Rush Henrietta, where she honed her skills before embarking on her college career, starting at Roberts Wesleyan. At Roberts, Nestler’s team secured the National Christian College Athletic Association championship for the first time in program history during the 2015/16 season.

Subsequently, Nestler transferred to The College at Brockport, where she tallied 828 points, alongside 500+ rebounds, and secured the second spot in program history with 109 blocks during her three seasons as a Golden Eagle. This performance earned her two All-SUNYAC honors. Additionally, Nestler’s dedication to academic excellence was recognized as she became a member of the Academic All-America team, and awarded the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award.

In addition to her coaching duties, Nestler works as a middle school social studies teacher at Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women and has previously served the Mercy Athletics Department in a variety of roles including modified basketball coach and a co-coach of Mercy’s strength and conditioning camp.
