SETTING THE SCENE
The Cardinals went 6-9-2 overall and 6-3-2 in Empire 8 Conference play in 2025 under seventh-year head coach Jack Burgasser, who owns a 43-31-22 (.558) career record, including a 33-10-9 (.721) mark in Empire 8 regular-season play. St. John Fisher reached the Empire 8 Tournament but fell in the first round at home, 5-1, to Utica.
The Cardinals had two players named to the All-Empire 8 first team — fifth-year midfielder/defender Jacob McGinnis and senior midfielder/defender Nick Rippe. Freshman goalkeeper Parker Stusek earned second-team honors, while junior forward Jack Tamburino, senior midfielder Reese Powers and senior defender Blake Petocchi garnered third-team recognition. Tamburino, one of the two returners from that group, paced the Fisher attack in 2025 with a team-high 10 points on five goals. Stusek anchored the net in his freshman campaign, going 6-7-2 with a 1.53 goals-against average and seven shutouts across 15 games played.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Jack Tamburino, Sr., F – Tamburino led the Cardinals with 10 points on five goals in 17 games last season, adding a team-best 25 shots and a game-winning goal. He earned third-team All-Empire 8 honors as a junior.
Adam Grover, Gr., M – Grover tallied six points in his 2024 season. He totaled two goals and two assists on 15 shots on goal. He is expected to have a big role in the Cardinals offense this season.
Parker Stusek, So., GK – Stusek burst onto the scene as a freshman, starting 15 games between the pipes and posting a 6-7-2 record with a 1.53 GAA, a .733 save percentage and seven shutouts. He earned second-team All-Empire 8 recognition in his first collegiate season.
Jeremiah Strader, So., F/M – Strader was an offensive spark plug as a freshman, tallying 5 points on 2 goals and an assist while adding a game-winning goal across 16 games.
Collin Gannon, Sr., F – Gannon contributed three points on a goal and an assist in 14 games last season.
