SETTING THE SCENE

The Cardinals in 2025 reached double-digit wins for the second time in four seasons under head coach Lauren Scorza, finishing the campaign 10-8 overall with a 7-3 mark in Empire 8 Conference regular-season play. They beat Houghton 5-2 in the first round of the conference tournament before falling to nationally ranked SUNY Geneseo in the semifinals.

St. John Fisher returns all five of its All-Empire 8 selections from last season, a group headlined by first-team forward Mary Kate McPhee and first-team defender Alison Taplin. Attacker Avery McLaughlin earned second-team honors, while defender Jordan Kauffman and attacker Sam Current garnered third-team accolades.

McLaughlin, McPhee and Current paced the Cardinals’ offense in 2025, each tallying at least 20 points. Taplin, Kauffman and Holly Stuart each recorded a pair of defensive saves while leading Fisher on the defensive end.

Morgan Parrinello played in 16 games and started in 15 of them in net for the Cardinals. She turned aside 74 shots, registered a 2.28 goals-against average and recorded three shutouts as St. John Fisher went 9-6 with her between the pipes.
