PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher junior linebacker Jack Bierman has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week following a dominant performance in a 38-8 victory over FDU-Florham on Saturday.
Bierman set career highs in tackles (10), tackles for a loss (4) and sacks (2) in the season-opening drubbing of the Devils at Growney Stadium. Both of his sacks came on fourth-down plays inside St. John Fisher territory in the first half, and the Cardinals' offense cashed in for touchdowns after each.
Bierman joins safety Timothy Vanderbrink and linebackers Jack Tanoory and Kyle DaMore as the fourth Cardinal to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week under head coach Ed Raby Jr. Last season marked the first in which Fisher had three national weekly honorees since 2014.
The Cardinals face St. Lawrence University at 7 p.m. on Friday in Canton, New York.
