PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's volleyball team will open the 2026 season receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Top-25 Poll.
The Cardinals garnered the third-most votes – 114 – among teams outside of the top 25. St. Olaf received 155, while Babson earned 117.
The Cardinals cracked the AVCA Top-25 for the first time in program history last season, earning the No. 24 spot ahead of the NCAA Tournament in the Nov. 18 poll.
Led by 2025 AVCA Region III Coach of the Year Kelly Greapentrog, who enters her 18th season at St. John Fisher, the Cardinals return a decorated core of players from a 2025 team that authored an unforgettable 30-2 season. During the historic ride, Fisher set program single-season records for wins and three-set sweeps (25) during the rally scoring era, reached 30 wins for the first time since 1983, and won an NCAA Tournament match for the first time in 27 years, sweeping Wentworth in the first round. All 30 of the Cardinals' victories came consecutively, the longest winning streak in program history and the second-longest by a team during the 2025 season at all three NCAA levels entering the second round of the NCAA DIII Tournament.
Despite losing 2025 All-American and Empire 8 Player of the Year Reilly Morrow (setter) and multi-time All-Region honoree Kiera Hartpence (libero) to graduation, the Cardinals still bring back four players who've been All-Americans in their collegiate careers. That list includes sophomore Kalyna Dannenberg, junior Lydia Fraser and seniors Ana Gutman and Kaylene Noble.
St. John Fisher opens the 2026 season at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, against No. 18 Ithaca inside the Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.
