ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Emma Sweazy finished in a tie for third place to lead the St. John Fisher women's golf team over the weekend in the McDaniel College Spring Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club.
The Cardinals as a team ended the two-day tournament tied with Salisbury for fifth at +163 (739). Catholic (+109) took first, while the rest of the leaderboard's top half included Gettysburg (+133), Stevenson (+147) and Franklin & Marshall (+158).
Top Performers
Sweazy ended the tournament in a three-way tie for third with a pair of Catholic University golfers, Lauren Wright and Gabrielle Courtney. The first-year standout carded a 24-over 168, eight strokes behind first-place Shuyi Wang of Franklin & Marshall.
Sweazy shot an 82 in the first round and an 86 in the second. She recorded a birdie on the par-four 12th hole on Sunday.
Senior Paige Landers (+41) finished tied for 18th place, while freshman Bella O'Rourke (+46) came in 25th.
