PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's volleyball team fell in three sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-23) to Vassar in its final regular-season United Volleyball Conference (UVC) match of the season on Saturday at Manning & Napier Varsity Gym.

The Cardinals, already locked into a UVC playoff spot, dropped to 17-10 overall (3-4 UVC), while Vassar moved to 15-8 (3-3 UVC).

St. John Fisher honored Casey Jackson, Gabe La Robardiere, Jimmy Roberts, Aiden Calhoun and Jack DeMaria during a Senior Day ceremony before the match.

Vassar used a pair of runs to separate from Fisher in the first set. The Brewers went on a 5-1 surge to take a 14-8 lead and a 6-0 push to extend their advantage to nine points, 22-13. Fisher slammed 12 kills in the frame but also spotted Vassar seven points on attacking errors, with four coming on blocks. Henry Bonney led the Brewers with three kills and logged a .333 hitting percentage.

The Brewers led by three to five points for most of the second set en route to a 25-18 victory. The Cardinals' offense was once again erratic, with nine kills and six errors for a .120 hitting percentage, while the Brewers had nine kills and just three errors on 17 attempts while hitting .353. Armaan Desai led Vassar with three kills and hit .750, and Petar Miocinovic aced a pair of serves. Jackson and freshman outside hitter Avery Kielbasinski led the Cardinals with three kills each.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the third set, but Vassar quickly put together a 9-3 run to take a 12-10 lead. After a flurry of ties and lead changes, including a three-point run from Fisher down the stretch to make it 23-23, the Brewers scored back-to-back points to claim a 25-23 win, completing the sweep. Fisher hit under .100 and gave away eight points on errors, with Vassar amassing 6.5 blocks.
