Women's Ice Hockey Completes Weekend Sweep of Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team earned a 4-1 conference victory over Chatham University to take the series on Saturday. Winners of five consecutive games, Fisher improved to 9-9-1 (4-3-1 UCHC) while Chatham dropped to 1-15-2 (0-8-0 UCHC).

How it Happen

Midway through the opening period, the Cardinals opened the scoring as Cecelia Stewart and Ellie Prantner combined to set up Eibhleann Knox for the game's first goal.

Just under two minutes into the third period, the Cardinals doubled its lead when Keira Reckley and Prantner found Sophie Grant, who buried a power-play goal. Five minutes later, the Cardinals extended the advantage to 3-0 as Reckley finished a feed from Skylar MacLean and Grant.

Chatham got on the board with a power-play goal by Liv McTavish to cut the deficit to two, marking the Cougars' lone goal of the contest. Prantner answered with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to restore the three-goal cushion, firing home an unassisted power-play goal.

Freshman goaltender Elizabeth Poole earned her first collegiate victory and made a career-high 30 saves in net.
