No. 10 Utica Handles Men's Ice Hockey

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's ice hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to No. 10 Utica University on Saturday. The Cardinals fell to 9-11-0 (3-9-0 UCHC) while the Pioneers improved to 14-5-0 (10-0-0 UCHC)

How it Happen

With under six minutes remaining in the opening period, the Pioneers opened the scoring as Drake Morse found the back of the net.

The pioneers doubled its lead three minutes into the third period when Andrew Rovere netted the second goal of the game.

Seven minutes later, Utica extended the advantage to three as Preston Brighton fired a shot.

With five minutes remaining in regulation, Nick Ahern capped the scoring for the Pioneers with the final goal of the game.

Game Notes

  • Goaltender Dylan Grover made 28 saves while in the net for the fourth time this season with 28 or more saves.

The Cardinals will face Nazareth University on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Rochester Ice Center in Fairport, N.Y.
