Hayden Harrington Named St. John Fisher's Assistant Athletic Director For Internal Events

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher University has named Hayden Harrington its Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Events, Director of Athletics and Recreation Jennifer Granger announced on Friday. 

A Buffalo native, Harrington returns to Western New York after two years at Florida Gulf Coast University. He served as FGCU’s Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Equipment from 2024-25 and as its Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Events for the past year. 

In his role at Fisher, Harrington will oversee the athletic department’s scheduling of practices and competitions and coordinate transportation for its teams. He will also lead the department’s work-study program. 

"It's a thrill to join the team at St. John Fisher,” Harrington said. “I truly thank Jennifer Granger and her athletic department staff for providing me this incredible opportunity. As a western New York native, I know how much the university's name means in the athletic landscape of this region. I'm looking forward to continuing the great tradition of experiences for our student-athletes, our alumni and our fans.”

During his two years at Florida Gulf Coast, Harrington worked with a number of the Eagles' athletic programs as a primary or secondary event manager, including men’s and women’s soccer, swimming & diving, softball, women’s tennis and men’s and women’s basketball. He also gained experience as a facility manager for FGCU’s soccer, softball and women’s tennis complexes and assisted with day-to-day operations of Alico Arena, home to the Eagles’ basketball programs. Harrington assisted with the scheduling of all practices, games and facility rentals, and had a role in hosting multiple Atlantic Sun Conference tournaments and the Geico Coconut Hoops Thanksgiving Tournament. 

Harrington served as an athletic facilities graduate assistant at Canisius University while earning his master’s degree in sport administration from 2022-24, a role in which he assisted with scheduling of practices and games and oversaw student workers. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sport pedagogy from Canisius in 2022. 

Harrington was a grounds crew member for the Buffalo Bisons, the Toronto Blue Jays’ Triple-A affiliate, during the 2023 season. He also assisted the Canisius University athletic facilities team as a student worker throughout his four years as an undergraduate student.
