Men's Hockey Drops A 4-2 Decision To Brockport

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-2 decision to SUNY Brockport on Friday night at the Rochester Ice Center. The Cardinals fell to 8-7-0 overall (2-5-0 UCHC), while the Golden Eagles improved to 6-8-0 overall (4-3-0 UCHC).

How it Happen

The Cardinals struck first just under six minutes into the opening period when Leyton Pettypiece set up Ian Emery, who fired home the game's first goal.

Nine minutes later, the Golden Eagles answered as Matthew Lee found the back of the net to even the score.

Brockport took the lead four minutes into the second period when Brody Seitz scored to put the Golden Eagles ahead. With less than three minutes remaining in the period, Brockport extended its lead as Schuylet Flansburg tallied a power-play goal, the Golden Eagles' third of the game.

Seitz added his second goal just under two minutes into the third period to make it 4-1.

The Cardinals mounted a late push when Charlie Robinson found Cannon Lentz just under five minutes into the final period to cut the deficit to two, but it was not enough as Brockport held on for the win.

  • With his assist, Pettypiece recorded a point in back-to-back games and now leads the team with 10 assists.
