PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's lacrosse program has added Logan Chase and Cassidy King as assistant coaches ahead of the 2026 season.

Chase, who played for the Cardinals from 2018-21 and worked under former head coach Linda Michele as an assistant coach in 2023, returns to Fisher after two seasons at SUNY Geneseo. King, an accomplished collegiate goalkeeper, played for the University of Indianapolis from 2019-22.

"It is such an honor to rejoin the staff here at St. John Fisher University and the women's lacrosse program," Chase said. "One built on tradition, legacy and family that is committed to excellence. I am incredibly lucky to have spent four years playing here and am now allowed to come back and work with the next generation of athletes."

King said, "I am extremely excited to join the women's lacrosse program here at Fisher. The reputation here for academic and athletic excellence is one I deeply respect, and I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the program. I am eager to support the development of our student-athletes and work alongside this experienced coaching staff in building upon the strong culture already in place."

Still fourth in Fisher history in caused turnovers (96) and sixth in draw controls (178), Chase was part of 57 total wins, three Empire 8 championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances over four seasons as a player. She helped the Cardinals reach their first-ever Final Four as a senior in 2021.

Chase earned All-Empire 8 first-team honors three times, second-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors twice and All-America honors from the IWLCA (second team) and USA Lacrosse Magazine (third team) in 2021.

With Chase on staff as an assistant in 2023, the Cardinals went 17-3 overall, won the Empire 8 title and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Chase spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons working under current Cardinals head coach Marykate Edmunds, also a Fisher women's lacrosse alum, at SUNY Geneseo. The Knights in that span went 26-11 overall, reaching the SUNYAC title game in 2024 and the Empire 8 title game in 2025.

A three-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, King made 272 saves over 66 collegiate games and posted save percentages higher than 50% during her junior and senior seasons. King ranked second in Division II in goals against average (6.10) as a freshman and led the nation in that statistical category (5.89) as a junior.

King, from nearby Canandaigua, earned third-team All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in 2021 and 2022. She garnered IWLCA All-Midwest honors three times, twice as a second-team selection (2019, 2022) and once as a first-teamer (2021).

During King's senior season in 2022, the Greyhounds went 22-1 and captured their first-ever NCAA Division II championship. King made three saves in the second half of UIndy's 11-9 win over East Stroudsburg in the national title game.

The Cardinals open the 2026 season on Feb. 21 at the University of Rochester.
