ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to SUNY Cortland in its season opener on Friday at the Midtown Athletic Club. 

The Cardinals took two of three matches to earn the doubles point. Junior Lily Miller and senior Tiana Buttino beat Gabriella Stanley and Alexandra Thut; freshman Adriana Colafranceschi and junior Isabella Busch topped Mary Repass and Anneli Adams. 

Cortland secured the dual victory by taking four of the six singles matches. Juniors Lily Miller (singles 3) and Anna Exford (singles 6) won their matches in singles action.
