Women's Soccer Draws With RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with RIT on Wednesday night at Tiger Stadium. The result moved Fisher to 1-2-1 overall and RIT to 2-0-3.

How It Happened

  • RIT opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Elena Onodera converted a penalty kick. Fisher answered just after halftime as sophomore forward Olivia Kalil (unassisted) found the net at the 45:41 mark. 

  • Fisher registered six shots, including four on goal, while RIT finished with 17 shots and seven on target. 

  • Senior goalkeeper Avery Byrnes matched her season high with five saves for the Cardinals. 

Game Notes

  • Kalil's goal marked the first of her collegiate career. 

  • The Cardinals and Tigers have settled for a draw in each of the last two seasons.
